Participating in online dating sites is one of the primary ways many single individuals choose to meet new people. Each dating site allows you to enter a unique profile. Your dating profile is a critical first step in whether or not someone will respond to you. Yet, dating profile writing is often a difficult task for many people.

How to Write a Better Profile

Many people don't feel comfortable writing about themselves so they end up with very short paragraphs or one-word answers to profile questions. Unfortunately, this will not do much in the way of making a good first impression. The typical browser has many profiles to go through. Chances are, they will skim everything and if you don't catch their eye within a matter of minutes, they move on. That means less responses and leaves you wondering what the problem is.

1. Better profile picture - This seems obvious but people continue to make the same mistakes with posting their photos. They use either out of date or difficult to view images of themselves. Use a clear and recent headshot of yourself as your default photo. Don't wear sunglasses and be sure that your face can be seen. You don't want a photo that displays you off in the distance.

2. Answer each question thoughtfully - You don't need to write out your life story for each question but try to write more than a few sentences. If a question asks what your hobbies are, go into detail. If your hobbies include bodybuilding, talk about why you do it, how long, how you enjoy fitness, etc.

3. Listen to music - Writer's block happens, especially when we have to go on and on about ourselves. Play your favorite music when you're writing. It gets you into a happier mood and talking about yourself should come much easier.

4. Get some inspiration - There is nothing wrong with browsing other profiles and getting some inspiration to write your own. Of course, don't copy what you've read word-for-word. You simply want to get ideas to boost your profile. You can get some dating profile examples by clicking here.
